About Valerie Knies... Valerie
Ann Knies has spent a lifetime singing hymns. She has sung in churches in almost
every state in the United States and over 30 countries. Wile visiting these many
churches, she noticed the old hymns of the faith are being neglected. New songs
and contemporary music are replacing the heritage hymns in many homes and
churches. Having a desire to do something to preserve the foundational
music of Christianity, Valerie has recorded two hymn collections of 32 each.
These collections, "My Master And My Friend" and "My Blessed
Redeemer" include man of her favorite hymns. She has worked together with
the most talented and brilliant pianist and arranger, Miss Heather Roberts, and
several instrumentalists, to record these beautiful hymn stylings. Her desire is
to get this music into homes and hearts as listeners sing along. People of all
ages will enjoy this inspiring and spiritual music, which has become a favorite
for many families.
Valerie, who has been a soloist since her teenage years,
holds a bachelor's degree in music education and has taught band and choir. She
plays several wind instruments and majored in sacred and classical saxophone.
She and her husband Jim have served as missionary church planters in Southeast
Asia and have been in Pecs, Hungary for over 10 years. She works in the church
in Hungary as church organist and music director, including directing a youth
choir and adult choir.

Mother,
mentor, missionary, and musician, Valerie Ann Knies
has served in many capacities of full-time ministry for twenty-five years. After
having received a B.S. degree in Music Education and a M.S. degree in Bible, she
taught band and choir. In 1986, Valerie and her husband, Jim, were appointed as
missionaries to the field of Malaysia where they served for one term. Seeing
unique outreach opportunities in Eastern Europe, they transferred to Pécs,
Hungary in 1993. The Knieses have since ministered planting the Bible Baptist
Church where, along with several other responsibilities, Valerie is actively
involved in the children’s and music ministries. They have three children,
James, Anna, and Mary. She has had a burden for many years to contribute to the
preservation of traditional hymns and gospel songs of the Faith. Her desire is
to see churches rediscover these songs, mature believers remember them, young
believers replace their worldly music with God-honoring music, and young
children, including her own, revere them for a lifetime to come.
Heather
Roberts began her music education when she was six-years-old. At the
young age of twelve, she began accompanying church services at the piano. She
has completed her B.S. in Sacred Music. The eldest of ten children and a
pastor’s daughter, Heather has used her abilities for the Lord. Among her
areas of ministry are writing, musical arranging, teaching piano and serving as
the secondary education teacher in the Mukwonago Baptist Christian Academy in
Mukwonago, Wisconsin.
