The message inside the CD cover reads...
"The times are fallen unto me in pleasant places; yea, I have a goodly heritage." This testimony of the psalmist David is also our testimony as we think of the heritage that our grandfathers have given to us. Their love for the Lord and their desire to be with Him have shaped our lives. We dedicate this recording to the memory of our godly grandfathers. Granddaddy Blanton, a dedicated firefighter, was known for his love for the Lord and heart to serve. After retiring from the fire department, he did not retire from living for others. Granddaddy, always a generous man, used to say, "My bank account is in heaven." His simple but unwavering faith in God is still a light for his family and grandchildren. Granddaddy loved music and enjoyed singing. We can still hear him singing his favorite hymn: "So I'll cherish the old rugged cross, 'till my trophies at last I lay down. I will cling to the old rugged cross, and exchange it someday for a crown." Papa Van Gelderen was a preacher who was unafraid to stand for Biblical truth. He Faced difficulties and trials in his stand for the Lord. Papa would say, "You are looking at a rich man. I have five tremendous children who are serving the Lord -- now what could be richer than that?" In the sermon he preached just before he went home to glory, he said, "When I get to heaven, I am going to want to see Jesus, my wonderful Savior. That is what makes heaven on earth -- when we're filled with the Spirit of God and allowing Him to control us." Van Gelderen Family Group Picture
