The message inside the CD cover reads...
The goal of the Christian life. The longing of the
Christian heart. What believer hasn't said these words and then promptly acted,
thought, or spoken in some decidedly un-Christlike manner. How can we ever
become "more like you, Lord"? From the beginning, God created us to be
like Him, made in his image. But the sin of the first man, Adam, and the sin of
every other person since then has marred that image. Only through salvation in
Christ can we be restored, and then our daily journey to put off our old nature
and put on the new begins (Ephesians 4:22-24). Peter, who denied he even knew
the Lord in His hour of greatest need, knew what it was to disappoint the Lord.
Yet he encourages us -- in spite of our weakness -- to grow in the grace and
knowledge of our Savior (2 Peter 3:18). The desire of everyone involved in this
recording project is that we all might be challenged to become more like Jesus.
God has used these songs to remind us of the great love of Christ for us. We
have been encouraged to abound in the fruit of the Spirit and convicted that we
fall so far short. Our prayer is that the Holy Spirit will speak to your heart
through this music as He desires. God wants to use you to show Himself to the
world -- "Christ in you, the hope of glory" (Colossians 1:27).
