Message inside CD insert... The
Yang Qin, or Chinese Hammered Dulcimer, has also been known in China as
the foreign lute. Though is was probably introduced to China by the Persians
around the 15th or 16th century. Today, it is considered a traditional
Chinese instrument.
About The Musician... Ruth
(Nasett) Abdnour grew up in China for about seven years. She learned the
dulcimer at the encouragement of here mother. She trained for two years in
China, learning traditional Chinese music and methodology. Upon her return to
the United States for Bible College, it has remained her joy to play hymns and
medleys in praise to the Lord. During her time at Northland Baptist Bible
College, God led Ruth and Yusef Abdnour together. He has since blessed them with
two precious boys. Shem and Jed.
In the Cross
In the Cross of Jesus my soul finds delight,
For there my strife is ended, my darkness chased by light.
I this guilty, ruined sinner, so full of pain,
A writhing, twisted pleasure from thy cross I gain.
In the vindication of my sin I am soothed,
My conscience is pleased.
My guilt is met, God's wrath poured out and appeased.
At the cross.
And who is this suffering Savior? Jesus the Nazarene
Whose record is pure and soul is clean.
My heart weighed down with sin, your gospel me awakes!
Grace-what sweet sound to my ears.
My guilt is gone! It disappears at the cross.
At the cross.
by Yusef & Ruth Abdnour.
