Old
Fashioned Revival Hour Choir -- Dr. H Leland Green, Director
The message inside the CD cover reads... For
More Than 30 years, Dr. Charles E. Fuller's Old Fashioned Revival Hour
was heard weekly by approximately 20 million people. The high quality of the
music attracted many who would not otherwise lave listened to a religious
program. Much of the credit for the music ministry belongs to Dr. H. Leland
Green. Under his leadership, the Chorus Choir performed with the precision of a
musical instrument. He masterfully varied the tempos and expression along with
the attractive arrangements to match the meaning of the hymns using solos,
duets, trios, and mixed quartets to provide rich variations. The words of the
songs were always clearly enunciated.
Now more than 25 years have elapsed since the Old
Fashioned Revival Hour's last album of choir music was released. This album
features songs taken from actual broadcasts of the program. Several of the
numbers were written by Dr. Green and were personal favorites of Dr. Fuller. The
choir's fine soloists featured: Beth Farnum, Joseph Barclay, Ben and Beth Allen,
and accompanists Rudy Atwood at the piano and George Broadbent at the organ.
Running nearly sixty minutes in length, this newly digitized and restored CD
album is the equivalent of two LP record albums.
