When I started this project, I greatly underestimated the amount of work and expertise needed to make it happen. Fortunately, I had some of the best help available in the music industry. Thanks to Steve for writing and conducting beautiful orchestrations, Bob for working his magic in the control room, and Jason for his invaluable advice and his (subtle?) criticism throughout the process. I am especially grateful for the incredible musicians in the studio who were able to follow my unpredictable tempo changes effortlessly. Everybody involved in this project cared passionately about making me sound as good as possible, and I am indebted to them for their hard work.

About a year ago, desperate to escape the shallowness of my Christianity, I began praying that God would work in my family to change our focus from the temporary to the eternal. Now, as 2006 comes to a close, I should not be too surprised that this past year has easily been the most challenging one that we have ever faced. As wonderful as the mountaintops are, the schoolhouse tends to be in the valleys. I am thankful to God for his protection over this past year and equally thankful for the opportunity to learn and grow.

My goal with the music on this project is to remind you that for Christians, both the good and bad times can be a wonderful journey. Reflecting on the simple truths of songs like "His Eye Is On The Sparrow" can help you through the deepest valleys. If you find yourself in a difficult place, I hope that this music will bless you.
